Mary Eccard
Executive Assistant

Mary Eccard, Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration joined the Emory in 1989. Following a "first career" in administrative positions at Vanderbilt University, Mary moved to Atlanta and continued working in the healthcare arena.

She recently pursued a second career in office support roles while at Emory. She holds a Master of Science degree from Ohio State University. Her most current career option has allowed her to pursue personal interests and occasionally find time to travel.

David Hanson
Associate Vice President for Administration and Special Assistant

David W. Hanson, Associate Vice President for Administration and
Special Assistant, joined Emory University in 2001 and worked at Goizueta Business School for three years until moving into his current role in 2004.

David holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership (with a focus on Higher Education). He also holds an MBA (with Beta Gamma Sigma honors) and a law degree (which he finished with High Distinction).

Prior to joining Emory, David practiced law for eight years, which included three years working for the federal court system (as a U.S. District Court Law Clerk and as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit). David practiced law with the federal government in Washington, DC and also served as a litigation associate with a private law firm. He is licensed to practice law in Florida, Colorado, the District of Columbia, and Massachusetts.

Elizabeth R. Ledbetter
Administrative Assistant to the Associate Vice President for Administration and Special Assistant

Elizabeth R. Ledbetter, Administrative Assistant to the Associate Vice President for Administration and Special Assistant, joined Emory University in 1996.

Prior to this, Elizabeth was the Residency Program Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to the Chairman of Neurosurgery for eight years.

Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology/Design.
